Classroom Rules
The Teacher’s primary concern is to provide a safe environment for learning to take place. We have a very small classroom, and we often have more students than computers. Rules have been created with student and equipment safety in mind. The teacher needs to focus on student learning and will not tolerate inappropriate behaviors.
STUDENT BEHAVIOR
- Enter and exit the lab quietly.
- Wait at the door if there is still a class there.
- Sit quietly and wait for directions when you get to class - Do Not Touch Anything.
- Do not immediately try to play computer games when you come to class.
- Don’t ask if we’re going to have a free day!!
- Sit quietly and listen when the teacher, or another student, is speaking.
- Speak quietly in class, we have a small room.
- Raise your hand if you need assistance.
- Keep your hands to yourself, and don't bother another student.
- Don’t give the teacher any problems!!!
- Push your chairs in before you leave.
STUDENT SAFETY
- Keep all four legs of your chair on the floor at all times - NO LEANING IN CHAIRS.
- Remain in your seats until you are dismissed.
- If the fire ararm sounds, remain seated and wait for instructions.
- Do not touch any cords and cables.
- DO NOT UNPLUG ANY CABLES!!!!
EQUIPMENT SAFETY
- Use all equipment with care.
- Keep your feet on the floor - feet can accidentally unplug power cables.
- Leave the computer on unless you are told to do otherwise.
- Ask for help if any part of the computer needs adjustment.
- Don't play with any part of the keyboards or mice.
- PRESS a key, DO NOT POUND ON THEM!!
- Don’t attempt to modify any computer settings.
- Don't change any screen backgrounds.
- Don’t DOWNLOAD anything without permission.
- Don’t INSTALL anything on the computers.
INTERNET SAFETY
- If an Internet site doesn’t look right, it probably isn’t -- read the description before clicking!
- Don’t print ANYTHING off of the Internet without permission.
- Do not use any form of chat.
- Do not use any form of Instant Messaging.
PRIVACY AND SECURITY
- Don't ever go into someone else's files.
- If you accidently open someone else's files, DO NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES AND RESAVE THEM.
- Don't ever delete ANYTHING without asking the teacher first.
GOOD WORK PRACTICES
- Begin all assignments with your name, date, and section.
- Always save your work several times throughout the class.
- Always check for spelling errors before asking to print.
- Only print when the teacher has checked out your work.
- Print ONLY one copy -- press PRINT only once.
- ALWAYS bring a pen or pencil to class.
- Ask the teacher about assignments missed because of absence.
Consequences:
1st time -- Warning
2nd time -- After school detention - (Next day, 24 hours notice)
3rd time -- Office detention - (Next day, 24 hours notice)
The teacher has the right to modify any consequences.
